Victoria Lannom: A Trailblazer and the Founding Voice of the Firm
Victoria’s legal journey began at Mississippi College, where she completed her undergraduate studies before continuing on to Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law. It was at Lincoln Memorial that she met Tyler — a meeting that would eventually shape both their personal lives and their professional partnership.
Victoria began her legal career in 2018, originally working in the entertainment industry before shifting her focus to estate planning — a move driven by her growing passion for the kind of meaningful, long-term work that helping families with their planning provides. In 2019, she founded Lannom Law, the practice that would later become Beacon Legacy Group. Tyler eventually joined her there, but the firm’s foundation was hers from the very beginning.
Tyler Lannom: Building a Practice Grounded in Service
Tyler’s path into estate planning and elder law began at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he completed his undergraduate education before heading to Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law for his Juris Doctor.
Tyler has been practicing law since 2018. He began his legal career as a public defender in Tennessee’s 13th Judicial District — work that shaped the careful, client-centered approach he brings to his practice today. He later joined Victoria at Lannom Law, and together they eventually rebranded the firm in 2024 as Beacon Legacy Group.
In addition to his work at the firm, Tyler also serves as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) attorney in the United States Army, continuing a tradition of service that has been part of his life and career from the beginning.
A Shared Commitment to Specialized Training
After Tyler joined the practice in those early years, the two of them recognized something important: the families they were serving deserved more than general legal knowledge. They deserved attorneys with deep, specialized training in the exact areas of law that affected their lives. In 2021, both Victoria and Tyler made the decision to pursue their Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees in Estate Planning and Elder Law from Western New England University School of Law.
An LL.M. is an advanced legal degree earned after the J.D., and it requires a significant additional commitment of time and study. Only a small percentage of attorneys ever pursue one. Even fewer focus that additional training so squarely on the specific work they do for their clients. Two attorneys in one firm, both with advanced specialized training in the exact area of law they practice — that’s an unusual depth of preparation, and it’s one of the things that sets Beacon Legacy Group apart in the region.
Why the Rebrand to Beacon Legacy Group
When Tyler and Victoria decided to rebrand from Lannom Law in 2024, the change wasn’t cosmetic. It reflected a clear vision for what the firm was becoming.
The first reason was forward-looking. Tyler and Victoria knew they wanted to grow the firm and bring on additional attorneys over time. A team-based identity felt more honest to that vision than a single family name on the door. They wanted clients and future colleagues alike to understand that the firm is built around a shared mission rather than around any one person.
The second reason was the meaning behind the name itself. A beacon shines a light. It offers guidance through unfamiliar terrain, especially when the way forward isn’t clear. That image captured exactly what Tyler and Victoria wanted their work to be for the families they serve. It’s also why the firm’s slogan — “Guiding Families Navigate the Law” — sits at the heart of everything we do.
